I am currently PhD candidate in Political Science and International Relations at Boğaziçi University and faculty member at Marmara University. I am also part-time fact-checker at Doğruluk Payı, co-founder of Izlemedeyiz Association and regular contributor to Episode magazine.
My research interests are in comparative politics with a focus on social movements, political parties, local politics and media. My current PhD project investigates the effect of state capacity, elite conflict and political openness on protest activities in Turkey. Methodologically, I utilize Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA) to examine protests in Turkey in period of 1980-2013.
